Mercedes 30 hp car in 1901

The name Mercedes given by Mr.Emil Jellinek for German Daimler car company  who was a business man living in south of France at the 20th century.The first Mercedes car were 28 hp Daimler Phoenix models in 1900. The next Mercedes models were the most significant cars of their era. Jellinek thought to start a sporting car and he asked Daimler to produce a faster,lighter and better-handling machine which would be more competitive in sporting event.The response from the Wilhelm Maybach who was the chief engineer that he built a new 35 hp engine for the first time, an aluminum crankcase to reduce weight. conventionally intake valves were automatic and which opens by vacuum in the cylinder and improved valve timing with twin carburetor one for each pair of cylinder. The 35 hp engine offered sparkling performance together with unmatched smoothness. The chassis was equally innovative for the first time the side members were stamped from sheet steel to save the weight.

Finally the 35 hp was test driven at the Nov 1900.early in 1901 it proven its worth for nice speed trial and then Mercedes got its name.They continued to start with quicker cars the 40 hp simplex and by 1903 Mercedes introduced the 60 hp which is good and got 60mph.

After the success of pulsar from BAJAJ family they come with new Pulsar 220 S.It looks like p 200 with same firing, split seating and with silencer.

But  there is no much bigger changes in the p 220 S there is no change in the rear view.  Just they have changed the front firing ,the front head light cowl, The mirror  which is mounted on the handle bar,changes in  sticker and have only pulsar and 220  sticker on the tank and side fenders.The head lamp doesn’t have the projectors  which was there in the pulsar 220 DTS-i.

But the good thing is that they have reduced weight of new 220 s that is 3 kg compared to the old p 220 and they have also reduced the price of 3000 rupees for new p 220 S by making it bikini firing Pulsar 220 S.You all may think that what The S stands for here is that the  S stand for street.

By reducing the 3 kg of weight that is by removing the front firing which was in p 220 F that makes easy on ride and to balance  in the cities. They slightly improved the performance  of the engine that is by reducing the weight of 3 kg. So that engine can pull bit easily when compared to p 220 F. And we can expect  some changes in fuel efficiency because by reducing the weight of p 220 S, so that there may be a slight improvement in the mileage.

If you go for black colored p 220 S It comes with black engine,black fork,handle bar,rear grab rail,black rear shocks and swing arm. There is no change in engine  it remains same with 220 cc, 21 bhp,19.12 Torque,and 32 m carburetor. When it comes to the price of P 220 S it may be around 75000 rupees.

YAMAHA SZ CONCEPT BIKE

Yamaha have plan to release the SZ concept commuter bike in India may in this year end or in 2011. This bike is displayed in auto expo Delhi 2010. We have some snaps which is from auto expo 2010 Delhi.If we look at this snaps this bike similar to gladiator  and it may be a 125 cc  bike.Let us wait for Yamaha SZ concept bike how it perform on Indian roads.
