  • By Pranab, May 7, 2009 @ 10:16 pm

Pulser feels the worst after 20,000 km run…
Coz i have pulser n my frnd has The UNICORN ,I maintained my bike very good but it doesnt feel like smooth as it was on new but my frnd bike is not wel maintained but it still feels like new sounds like new n u cant say its a old bike after lookin at the performance…

VERDICT:- IF U WANT LOOKS DEN GO FOR PULSER IF U WANT ELSE THINGS BEST GO FOR UNI…..

  • By Mahesh, May 15, 2009 @ 3:45 am

I bought the new Honda unicorn full black.. Absolute beauty. The engine refinement is just too good. Any one will buy the bik with their eyes closed if they test drive both the unicorn and pulsar. Unicorn beats the pulsar at a miles lenght in both engine smoothness and confort.

  • By Kodi, May 15, 2009 @ 9:56 pm

Yes, Mahesh is right. Unicorn is an amazing bike, you can’t compare it with Pulsar. I admit pulsar looks good but looks alone will not do. This new Unicorn can over pulsar in looks as well. The engine is so smooth you will love it, whereas if you start pulsar you will feel that uncomfortable turbulence when you are on first gear.

There isn’t a bike in market which is as smooth as Unicorn, if you think there is please let me know.

  • By pavel, May 24, 2009 @ 4:48 pm

i think the wheel size of honda unicorn is less wider. i m looking for the information . what maximum size of wheel i can attach to the new honda unicorn. it will be very thankful if any body response me…

    thank for reading….

  • By BUBUN, May 24, 2009 @ 11:44 pm

Mahesh u have done a grt thing by buying this bike, coz its the BEST bike in indian markrt.
Kodi I admit Uni looks good but its not the upmarket -new generation look.
Which Pulser has.Uni needs some Refinements yet-
    1>Digital speedo
    2>Gas charged suspension
    3>Led Tail lamp
    4>City lights

This things can make this BUTTER SMOOTH PREMIUM MACHINE more aggressive.

Another aTwo motecycles Shares same engine -

    1>H.H. CBZ Extreme
    2>H.H. HUNK

But still lacks a bit on smoothness as they are having different gearbox.
Any wayz UNI IS THE KING…

  • By BUBUN, May 26, 2009 @ 1:42 am

No Pavel Honda unicorn, pulser150 ,HH Cbz, HH Hunk,Tvs Apache.
All these range has of same wheel size and tyre width.Except Yamaha FZ-16(Best tyre in its range)
Yes of course the earlier version of Honda Unicorn has of less wider tyre.

As per my suggestion The wider size tyre will definitely reduce ur bikes performance as well as mileage with very less amount of added grip. Ride quality and comfort is directly related to Suspension and chassis alignment Which is better on Unicorn of course best in YAMAHA-R15.
But I bet Unicorn is the most and best comfortable one in its range.

So don’t go for a tyre change in Unicorn.

  • By BUBUN, May 26, 2009 @ 1:51 am

    Hi pavel,

Ur not 100% right Coz previous model of honda Unicorn has less wider tyres, But now all the bikes( Unicorn,Pulser-150,Apache,CBZ,Hunk) has same wider tyre.

Dont go for a tyre change Coz it will reduce performance,Top speed, mileage, With less added grip.

Go to a show room n see its tyre fits best n looks genuine with the standard fitments.
If u really Go FIDA for tyres then Go for YAMAHA -FZ16.
Its a good machine with macho looks and reliability.
But smoothness and Comfort is not as much as unicorn.

  • By grenal, June 11, 2009 @ 10:02 pm

    hi
The unicorn is the best bike of the year

  • By arjun, June 17, 2009 @ 3:49 am

even i own unicorn, it is the best 150cc bike in india..it solidly gives me 62 km/lit..no other 150cc bike gives u this milage.would u beleave or not..i went 125 km/h speed in highways..i think the top speed is 130 km/h. so i suggest dat, u can blindly go for this bike…it is mindblowing.

  • By bubun, June 18, 2009 @ 4:04 am

    Hi Sakti …
U can blindly go for UNI for that back pain reason…..
Also suzuki gs150 is a good option … but having some cons like weight and balance

  • By varun, June 20, 2009 @ 10:00 pm

Unicorn have a good comfort leavel good average nice muscular look. the positive point is that it has the mono sunspension who makes ride more comfortable.
But if u want Speed, pickup,Great muscular look then definately u should go for pulsar….
any time pulsar beet unicorn……bcoz of his power and pickup

  • By varun, June 20, 2009 @ 10:15 pm

I m a Automobile Engg and a bike lover.i have tested many bikes but when the topic come to unicorn & pulsar is should say go for pulsar if u r looking for great speed, pickup, and looks. i have unicorn and pulsar both but i prefer pulsar most in my day to day life bcoz i love speed….
top speed of unicorn is 115 and it hardly touches 120 but about pulsar it smothly touches 120 and it hatdly goes 125 to 127… if u r looking for comfort then go for unicorn…. so now the choice is yours ….

  • By varun, June 20, 2009 @ 10:21 pm

dude u have post the comments that Unicorn is the best bike of the year but only for one year but bulsar became bike of the year 3 times in three years……. think about it…..

  • By varun, June 20, 2009 @ 10:23 pm

Shakti go for unicorn if u r facing back pain doctors do prifer unicorn for the person who suffers back pain

  • By varun, June 20, 2009 @ 10:33 pm

Hi PAVEL this is Varun if u put wide tyres your average will decrease by 3.. there is no problem to put wide tyres in unicorn infact wide tyres increase the looks of unicorn……
my sugestion if u r budget is less put DENLOP tyres either put MRF tyres.

  • By varun, June 20, 2009 @ 10:44 pm

Pulsar have twins spark plug and unicorn has one, piston of pulsar is big and unicorn have small piston…. any time pulsar beats unicorn…… if some one says that unicorn beats pulsar then its absolutely wrong information …….
some time its depend uppon riding of the person……….
    pulsar 14.9 bhp
    unicorn 13.3 bhp

difference of .5 bhp can make a difference between speed and pickup.

  • By SAM, June 30, 2009 @ 5:46 am

    HAI
I AM GOING TO PURCHASE NEWUNICORN NEXT MONTH IF I GET 65KM/L MILEAGE

  • By BUBUN, July 1, 2009 @ 2:56 am

    Hi varun,

PIston size n bore size hardly matters for performance.
Say for yamaha YZF R15. is of bore size 150 cc. but with out standing performance or u can say best performance in indian bikes.

Also more bhp bike has less grunt n top speed than less bhp bikes.\

Say for Discover 125 and Yamaha gladiater, and honda stunner.
Yahaha gladiater has more speed and performance.

Twin Spark plug hardly makes any difference in performance but not in terms of reliability.
    What about smoothness???
Pulser sounds n feels like hell at higher speeds.(>80)
Coz i have a pulser and i have experienced 22,000 kilometres in it.

I think u have never drive a Unicorn at higher speeds.

If u wanna the best 150 In India- Its for sure – Yamaha YZF R15 and Yamaha FZ16.
    In terms every thing!!

If u wanna still best Wait a month for HONDA CBR 150

  • By blade, July 2, 2009 @ 9:16 am

    wait a sec. brothers
power output on papers does not matter
pulsar 14.09 bhp and unicorn 13.3 bhp
Well pulsar’s engine faces immensive power loss due to vibration , inefficient gear transmission and many other technical drawbacks exist for power loss in pulsar.
Hence pulsar delivers only 11-12 bhp of power to its wheels wheras unicorn delivers 12-13 bhp of power to its wheels.
when you road test both of them you will understand what i mean ! !
same case is with Tvs apache , they wastes greater share of their power in vibrational energy and wearing in their creeky gear boxes.
The pulsar stands nowhere near the unicorn.
Bajaj Chetak was also ruling the roads like the pulsar , but only till HONDA ETERNO came to india. Now no one knows about what was bajaj chetak .
Same has started happening in the 150cc segment. Manufacturers are shifting to 160cc , 180cc and leaving the 150cc for unicorn to rule as its performance is impossible to be beaten by any other 150cc bike.
UNICORN IS THE UNSTOPPABLE KING OF 150CC SEGMENT.

  • By JOshi, July 5, 2009 @ 11:29 pm

    Dear all,
I own Unicorn 2008 Dec model, superb bike, gives good milage, no jerking, no shakes even at 105 KM / Hour speed.
I used to ride on ECR road in Chennai, and used to compete with Pulsars 150, but I overtake them easily :-)

for any confusions , clarifications …. call me at 9950977407 :-)

Happy Riding to those who own the Road King ………………..

    HONDA-UNICORN
THE NAME IT SELF SAY’S THE GREATNESS OF THE BIKE

  • By suresh, July 13, 2009 @ 7:37 am

UNICORN is the king of roads. Its good for long drives as it is having a very good comfort seating. I parctically drove for 350 KM in a day. I had not strained at the end of the day. In two days we had covered 800 KM in doubles. Hats off to the bike for ultimate comfort. I think this riding comfort is due to monosuspension. If you want a good a bike with all good features go for unicorn it is having good mileage too of 52KM/L

  • By vipin, July 15, 2009 @ 9:50 pm

i driven Bajaj pulsar, Honda Unicorn, CBZ Extrme, Apache RTR,Hero Honda Hunk. But i likes Honda Unicorn. Its pickup superub. • By JAIDEEP, July 16, 2009 @ 7:16 pm

    Dear Readers & Bikers,

I am having new PULSAR 150 DTSI 2009 Edition Bike….. it’s very very fantastic bike, especially when it comes about comfort & handelling.

If you will purchase the shockabsober adjusting spanner, with a minor adjustment of rear shock absorber, you can have a coutomized effect of smooth suspension in City ride, hard roads & Higways differently. It takes only 2 mins.

And belive me or have a test ride, for the Ultra sooth gear shifting, no one can belive that it’s Bajaj gears.

Some innovative features are newly added, like the head light switches on even if Engine is in off condition, and light intensity does not variate with throttle variation.[Constant intensity of light].

No doubt, Unicorn Engine is more smooth than that of Pulsar. But you listen the heartthorming strokes of Pulsar when any young fellow roughly goes besides you…….thats the brand….Pulsar.

Default aheight adjustment of Rear & Front shockabsorber of Pulsar keeps you very steady, especially when Disk Brake is applied.

It is hardly to decide the winner,

Pulsar gives you seating posture, it’s firing & looks that makes you the young, muscular or collage going biker look.

While unicorn leaves you more sophesticated, sober or a formal looking guy, technical specs are not so differenciating.

    The choice is yours……

  • By mega, July 29, 2009 @ 10:55 pm

    which bike is best?
    pulsar or cbz

  • By blade, August 7, 2009 @ 10:17 am

Pulsar 150cc and 180cc have same merits and demerits
    merits :
    1. Most youthfull looking bike after FZ-16
    2.Good resale value
    3.Easy availability of spare parts
    4.Proven bike
    Demerits
1.Very fast wear and tear of engine components .The performance keeps on dropping with time and kilometers on ODO.
    2.Poor long ride comfort
    3.Worst pick-up to mileage balance
4.At times the engine noise can be very irritating.

Verdict : If you buy for short term usage only , go for any of the two above , but if you want to ride your bike for 3-5 years or even more then think of honda or suzuki or yamaha bikes only.

  • By Thomas, August 12, 2009 @ 8:24 pm

Hi guys,I bought all new honda unicorn just two months ago and it just rocks.. I studied and analysed all the 150 cc bikes for nearly one year , test drove all of them and finally decided to go for unicorn…although like all others i too had a little crush for pulsar intially but when i rode unicorn for the first time i decided that this bike is gonna be my partner for life.. just unimaginable compared to any other bike in India..
the engine smoothness the suspension the looks the large size wat ever no other bike can even come near it///although i accept that pulsar looks little sexy and had got little more pick up but still a bike has to have lot more features than that…

So guys dont think just do it….Unicorn is the real King………..

  • By Chetan, August 14, 2009 @ 7:58 am

I own a Honda Unicorn for more than 1 year, I’ve White-Blue GP Edition, The looks and color combination is just amazing.
The bike’s very stable and excellently smooth, (i came to know this when i rode it around 95+kmph for more than consistent 50 km and it was just awesome)
With some tweaks in the different valves present, u can boost the bike to give more power and acceleration than any other 150cc bike.
Wanna go for some, GO FOR UNICORN… bcoz its UNIQUE..!

  • By prem, August 20, 2009 @ 9:44 pm

In above all posts friends discussed about pulsar and unicorn. My brother using Pulsar since 4 years. Till now he spent around Rs.30000 for only engine repairs. Its engine sounds irritating after 1 year from purchase.Pulsar upgraded so many times..if you purchase now ..an upgrade may be happened in next month! Then your bike will be older for only one month! Standard companies like Hero Honda,Honda should not upgrade their models again and again. once they design a model..it will be a trend setter for a number of years. That’s why those companies having above 60% market share because of their reliability and technology.
What ever discussed above..Pulsar is not a solid bike. If anybody wants to change bike for every 2 years..then go for Bajaj Pulsar.

  • By Rahul, September 14, 2009 @ 12:09 am

    Hi all!
    I`m Rahul
    I own a pilsar 150DTSi
I have riden it for 60,000+ km
within first 25000 km I came to know that my decision to by this Bajaj product was TOTALY WRONG!
the power, pickup, milege all did well when the bike was new
after 20-25000 km there nothing good left to say about the bike
The silencer was useless at 25000
I have changed the trafficators set 5 times, there wewre always problem with the self starter, chnged Battery thrice.
there were some frequent engine problems even i maintained servicing schedule and place suggested by Bajaj

on othe hand I,m still using my first bike Victor even after 100000+ km

    Hi Automobile experts & professionals,

Likewise the others, I too hav the craze for bikes. although so many options I hav concentrated on only Unicorn, Pulser & Apache RTR FI 160. with so many informations & outknowledges, what I experienced is Unicorn is good enough than Pulser.
May I borrow some strong comparison between the rest two (Unicorn & Apache RTR FI 160).

It would be a great help in taking decision of my buying bikes.

    Thanks & Regards
    Sekhar Mahanta

  • By Mugu, October 22, 2009 @ 9:37 pm

    Hi everybody,
Let me have a suggestion frm u all
I bought Pulsar 150cc 1.5 years back, last week it has touched 22,000/- KM. In my view the pulsar which has a wing is not as good as the old pulsar will all accept????

2 days back my bike was theft in Chennai beach(it was loked) , u ll knew that only the pulsars are being missing yyyyyyy????
    cos’ lock is very bad
    pls come up…….

  • By Mugu, October 22, 2009 @ 9:38 pm

Any one can unlock the pulsar.

  • By Vru, October 23, 2009 @ 6:53 am

I think people here doesn’t know much about pulsar.. talking about drop in performance after some time is not true.. In fact pulsar is the only engine in 150 cc line up of indian bikes, which losts more than 300 hours in redlin endurance testing. It’s the best that is there in 150 cc, that’s why it’s the best selling 150 cc.. stop bhajan of unicorn.. may be a good bike.. but PULSAR is the undisputed king of 150 cc.. still to be beaten. Even after 5 years in the scene unicorn is a distant second in sales. Pulsar is the bike for all the seasons and for all the reasons.. pulsar rocks…….

I had got my Silver colour HONDA UNICORN in June 2006, its 28,000 Km now, still the engine is very smooth (lik the new one) & even the mainetance is very low. Average is around 50-55km.
Its simply amazing in comfort, power & overall the BEST one plz get it.
PULSARs engine gets useless aftr 50,000 km same goes to all BAJAJ bikes.
    !! UNICORN ROCKS !!

  • By VIJAY, October 31, 2009 @ 5:18 am

    HONDA IS ALWAYS BEST BCOZ
    1;EGINE-VERY SMOTHLESS

  • By Rakesh, November 10, 2009 @ 10:30 am

    hi everyone,
first of all i would like to thank you all for the vast and very useful research on the two famous bikes of india.before going through this website i was totally decided to buy a PULSAR 150 DTSi but as i started to read the posts here gradually i got very valuable information about the said bikes.it is true that the look of the PULSAR 150 DTSi impressed me a lot and only because of that i made my mind to buy it.but after knowing the brilliant features of HONDA UNICORN i realized that what a big blunder i was going to do.now i’m well convinced to buy a ‘HONDA UNICORN’ the best bike of india in 150cc category.thanks to this website, to you all great folks.

  • By Murali, November 12, 2009 @ 1:18 am

    Hi Guys…..

  • By Gopal, November 13, 2009 @ 5:57 am

I’ll go for honda unicorn as its smooth and noise less…

  • By Ujjaval, November 17, 2009 @ 12:51 pm

i m 20 yrs old. i ride unicorn 2005 model. it ran 40,800 kms. still no problem in engine. as smooth as it was in 2005. no change in power & mileage. very low maintenance cost. gr8 comfort. But sometimes when i look at FZ-16 or FZ-S, I found my bike old fashioned & having lack of style. Unicorn has a very slim rear tyre compared to FZ. Honda must improve their market strategy about styling of indian bikes. Engine is no doubt excellent. But they must work on their styling.

  • By Alex, November 18, 2009 @ 1:14 am

  • By boy, November 22, 2009 @ 2:17 am

  • By muthu, November 25, 2009 @ 5:33 am

Whatever it is Pulsar 150 is Good …. if you want speed ,perfomance and reliable. i have pulsar 150 for past 5 years and i am changing it for new pulsar 150 cas i did not have any maintanance problem till now and i ran over 60k kms .. One thing i find good is, its more stable than anyother velicle in its class.i cannot drive unicorn more than 80 km/hr after riding pulsar … feel its going weightless ..hope you all accept.

  • By vishnu, November 25, 2009 @ 9:59 am

    unicorn is superbbb………..

  • By Nischal, November 26, 2009 @ 11:50 am

Unicorn Rocks with beter proformance beter mileage and beter looks + its has monosuspation which gives better comfort for the raiders then the Pulsar. its looks heavy+it has beter hight then pulsar+musculer body and suits to all aged person, teenagers, and guys likes us.

Bike Ho Toh Unicorn Jaisa, Pura Paisa Vasool hai Bhai.Tention nahi Lene ka Samja Kya.

  • By Rajendra Gumtya, December 7, 2009 @ 4:50 am

I rode both the bikes and personally feel that they both are targetted towards different segment. Its normal for any adrenaline chaged youth to fall for a pulsar , i’mean thats only natural for men like us. Unicorn has been more scientifically designed by one of the world leaders keeping in mind the Indian riding environment with conditions like bad roads, unruly traffic and ever-rising fuel prices. Buddy its a simple tradeoff between Beauty and Reliability. While I like the initial pickup of Pulsar , I simply enjoy the gliding experience delivered by Unicorn.. so choose the one that suites you best!!

  • By Ravi C Shekar, December 7, 2009 @ 11:03 pm

  • By Gautam, February 21, 2010 @ 7:07 am

I think all workers/ engg @ honda are of 6’6″ highted!
My height is 5’9″, means no lesser than an average indian man. Till the height of unicorn feels me like m i climbing a ladder? Also when moving thr’ rushy road control over bike is “comparitively” hard than low height bike like pulsar. (Pulsar having 17″ tyre wrt 18″ of unicorn. Not just 1″ matters but sitting height is important. @ uni pillion is sitting in air, rather than on road). If u continously travel thr’ rushy road full of randomly moving peoples, u will get what i m saying!
Hope honda will do something to reduce the irritating height of the bike.

  • By nandha, February 22, 2010 @ 8:55 am

i’d like to buy a New HondaUnicorn, but long booking time, any suggessions

  • By mohnish, March 24, 2010 @ 11:15 am

I own unicorn for last 1 and half year. Its too good. Still feel like showroom piece. No change in engine sound, no vibrations, no cranky noise, Very cheap for maintenance.

I have also driver Pulsar But its disadvantageous bcoz of vibrations. Power does not make much sense when compared between 150 range bikes.

Mono suspesnsion does not give any sort of problem even on bad, bumpy, tar stripped roads. Its same on all types of roads. These are just rumours. Dont believe them.

    i am interested in Unicorn..
    What do you people suggest?

  • By glany, April 17, 2010 @ 1:31 am

3 weeks back I bought a unicorn.. I can say that its better than pulsar and my bike gives 75kmpl.. I am vary happy with unicorn..

  • By kiran, April 19, 2010 @ 11:04 am

I was inspired to go for Unicorn after reading this blog. I now own a new unicorn black new model “CB Unicon”. but honestly guys every thing in this bike is cool.

Mono suspension is big flop. It does not take basic shocks on roads compared to pulsar dual shocks. The shock absorber does not even move for dips and directly you feel like u are getting hit on Head. pulsar has better shock absorbers.

Engine is good in Unicorn very soomooth. No inital pick up. Ofter gets switched oof during initial ride.

Go for Pulsar = Best for city Ride.

Dont go by this blog, It has fullof Honda supporters.

    Hi,

I’m in Bangalore planning 2 buy my first bike. I had a thought in buyin Pulsar 150cc, but after riding in Unicorn, I prefer Unicorn is best compared 2 Pulsar coz of its smoothness, milege and look. But still I had a confusion in choosing Unicorn or Pulsar 150cc. By seeing the comments posted, I prefer Unicorn. But my friend is having Unicorn bought eight months back, he complained that starting trouble is there. Have anybody faced this problem ?

Also please let me know is there any other bike in 150cc good in comfortness, milege and apperance as like Unicorn.

  • By pranav pt, April 27, 2010 @ 9:12 am

i booked a honda unichorn, now 85days gone stiil i haven’t my bike, i think honda unichorn is better than pulsar in milage,re sale ,less maintance and comfort and remember unichorn is from honda worlds number one two wheeler company so bajaj is far behind from unichorn as we compared its makers, so go for unichorn and enjoy ur ride.

  • By pranav pt, April 27, 2010 @ 9:41 am

    GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GUIZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ GO FOOOOOOOORRRRRR UNNIIIIIIIII
PULSAR IS NOTHING IN FRONT OF IT U CAN FEELTHE INTERNATIONAL TOUCH AND QUALITY FROM HONDA IN UNICHORN,BUT THE ONLY PROBLEM IS DELAY IN DELIVERY AFTER BOOKING,,,,,,,,,, LOOOOOOOOOOOGGG BOOOOOOKING

    I SAID
IF SOME ONE GO FOR INICHORN HE MUST HAVE A PECHIENT
MIND SO IF U WT FOR A FEW MONTH ,, U WILL BE THE OWNER OF A SUPERB BIKE…….. PULSAR IS A MONEY EATING MONSTER EMONG BIKES FOR MAINTAENCE ,AND PULSAR WOULD ‘T GIVES U THE MILAGE AFTER 2YRS AS U DESERVES……..

  • By abir, April 28, 2010 @ 11:14 am

    @Venkat
NO, there is no such problem in unicorn…i own 2007 model unicorn, awesome, zero maintenance, powerful, decent, also good response at honda service centers unlike bajaj’s stingy service centers…..I recommend you UNICORN without a second thought….this is the best in its class ie., in 150 cc bikes in india…am from hyderabad
    good luck :)

hey guyz wat abt honda dazzler????

  • By PRANAB, May 17, 2010 @ 10:48 pm

    Hi Vikrant,

Blindly go for Unicorn- if u have only choice for unicorn and Pulser….
Unicorn in ever youth type bike. in terms of smoothness, comfort, speed stability,Ride,Resale value.
Pulser is stylish one having more features than unicorn with more initial pick up…. But u will forget the smoothness of pulser after 10k kilometres it will start vibrate and wil give harsh sounds, will give problems in clutch plates etc and the resale value of pulser is very less.

Above all if u want some thing extra Now onlythen blindly go for YAMAHA FZ-FZS-FAZER in terms of ride and handling its the best, also smooth and initial pick-up is very very good. Quality is also gud.

If you can wait for some more time then wait for Unicorn sport.
Looks wise style wise and smoothness wise u will get the best.

  • By Prashant, May 21, 2010 @ 4:25 am

    Dear Old Varun,
I don’t know weather u know how to drive a bike or not but you might be a automobile engg. but u r not a good rider I have Unicorn with me and I have touch the 135Km on Highways my dear and pickup wise Honda is much more technically advance then Bajaj and even a kid can understand that still if u are not agree come with me we can race if don’t know how to race send any of the best rider in ur town or in country bring ur bajaj I will bring my honda come on I give open challenge to anyone come with 150cc Bajaj and race with me on any roads and any conditions.City/Villages/Highways anywhere.

  • By Ashok, May 25, 2010 @ 8:02 am

my suggession is pulsar. bcoz, by look, there is no bike compare to pulsar. unicon can give good mileage but not looking good. also height is the problem compare to pulsar…

  • By Satish Singh, June 9, 2010 @ 1:52 am

I’ve booked Honda Unicorn on 29th May..and this is 9th Jun..Waiting period is 20 days it seems..I’m keep calling Haiku Honda guys on Old Madras Road to deliver my bike as on earliest but til now haven’t received it. He told me coming saturday he’ll call me when trucks will come.
I’m dying to have my black color Unicorn. And all these days just reading review and will be doing so until I get mine one.

I’ve Hyundai Accent GLS, Kinetic Flyte for my wife, Had HH passion which I’ve sent to my native.
Since long back I had my eye on Unicorn, and got positive feedback from everywhere, beside there are 3 unicorn already in my apartment out of which one is the new one black color.

Guys give me some idea to convince this dealer fellow so that he deliver my bike as on earliest..
Bike if good in looks..height is more compare to pulser, but its okay to me..seat is long thats good, self start is good, engine is not noisy …rest other are the specification, you can read on its site “http://www.honda2wheelersindia.com/unicorn/features.html”.
One thing I want to know..how it runs on sleepy or wet road? Does it skid? what happen when it is running on high speed and suddenly due to dogs or some other vehicle I’ve to put brakes.. Will it stop or fall or skid If I apply brake on high speed or wet road or mud or spread sand on road?? In one review someone says Unicorn is not good on wet road.

Pray for me to get my bike fast…

    Thanks,
    Satish Singh

  • By sriniwas, June 24, 2010 @ 9:58 am

    Hi

My height is 5′ 6” inches and i feel that new pulsar 150 cc i get more control compare to unicorn the reason is that it is more height. Engine of honda is good compare to pulsar. But the rider should have full control on bike (taking u turn, taking circle, going straight …). For example when ur both footh rest on road comfortably u will have more control on bike. For short people honda unicorn being heavy will be problem.

The pulsar seat is simple and straight than unicorn. The pillion rider and kid on petrol tank of bike will notmake ur ride unpleasent comapare to unicorn.

Finally the more control u have less the accident it will cause.

Be indian buy indian. Bajaj should also stop cheating in term of quality it uses in bike (Alloy etc)

  • By pratik, June 26, 2010 @ 1:01 am

hey m planning 2 buy new bike my 1st choice is honda unicorn dazzler n 2nd is bajaj pulsar 150cc m not able 2 deside which 1 is bettr i require quality lyk gud pikup, low mantence, comfort for long ride, gud mileage. plz help me out soon as possible ill b waiting…

  • By amit, June 26, 2010 @ 11:52 am

2 years back when I had to buy a bike ,i was so confuse which i should take..I research on net and also take test drive of both bikes unicorn and pulsur…my friends had pulsur so i compare unicorn’s smoothness, speed performance all with the pulsur and found that unicorn is really a silent killer.Atlast I go for Unicorn .it has been about 2 years I am having Unicorn.u can see pulsur every where ..but the Unicorn is the real king..
because mostly people like students go for looks that pulsur has they dont think about other things like milage, performance, smoothness, reliabilty and many more for which u r looking on the net,if they had researched on net they would definately went for Unicorn.but the new Unicorn is also beating pulsur in looks.
One more thing in size like height and length , Unicorn is big brother
for pulsur.people of less height can go for pulsur.
One more thing i want to say ..Unicorn looks Royal ,while pulsur looks little bit low level because of over makeup.
It will leave you behind u will not even hear its sound..

I just love my Bike and that is Unicorn.

    Hai Guys!!!!!
If there is a race between Pulsar 150dtsi and Unicorn 150cc defintely we can tell that Pulsar will win the race but you keep the race between two bykes in performance then Unicorn will win the race defintely.
My suggestion is that for speed riders Pulsar is the best and Riders who want good performance Unicorn is the best.
    Note: Puslar’s Table
    It will be like this
Name Speed quaility Enginesound Milage Repairs Up to
Pulsar Excellent Excellent Excellent Good Less 1 year
Pulsar Good Good Good Low high 1.5year
Pulsar Low Low Worse Vey Low high 2year
Pulsar Worst Worst Worst Worst Worst after2years
But Unicorn Is stable and good for many years
I Suggets go for Honda Unicorn than Pulsar…
    Am I Right Friends…

amoung all this comments i prefer bajaj pulsar as a king of roads because it has a marvelous pickup, speed, grip on road, handeling and most important “definetly male” look and this bike is perfect for stunts also like donuts, wheelie, burnout, stopie and many more but on otheside unicorn does not give attractive look and good features, so i prefer all u guys go for a pulsar it was always best…………
and remember 1 thing “if u take care of ur bike like ur girlfrnd than only it cares for u”………….

  • By Maddy, July 16, 2010 @ 4:57 am

Can any one suggest me a good bike in 150cc with good mileage, I have a plan to choose pulsar or unicorn. Can any one suggest me which bike is good in mileage as well as stylish and maintenance free bike.

  • By mohd abbas, July 29, 2010 @ 11:06 am

i have pulsar 150cc 2008 model. since long i have travelled more than 45000 kms . its noise is heavy but it did not give me any problem . i travelled 80 to 90 km daily . i drive it at speed 97km/hr double sit on highway but my bike runs smooth nor get any vibration nor getting any difficulties. pulsar is agood bike and i have maintained it like ababy . i love pulsar.

  • By mohd abbas, July 30, 2010 @ 12:10 am

i agree that unicorn rock the road with its silent engine but smoothness of sound is not good for all time . when you are in rashing mood and use your vehicle roughly the sound should be noisy and logo ko naa chahate hua bhi piche mood kar dekhna pade.both unicorn and pulsar are good in their own ways . i think unicorn is good for formal style and for young boys the rough bike pulsar is good for its sporty model rough and tough model.

  • By Verma, August 1, 2010 @ 1:07 am

go for unicorn only if u r below average indian height. I am 183 cm, and I have ridden both pulsar 150 DTSI and Honda Unicorn. The main problem wid pulsar is the neutral position find, and uncontrolled throttle in the first gear. U take pulsar and unicorn to some hilly terrain where there is no straight road for a 100 mtr stretch, u will get to know the ride and handling of both. The mono-suspension of Unicorn, will give more tilt when u turn, so chances of slide are high. Pulsar is very balanced in this regard. Also pulsar is BAJAJ brand, u will find even a road side mechanic to repair it, but for HONDA Unicorn, if u r stuck, then u r gone.
Go by indian mentality, and opt for BAJAJ-Pulsar
And yes, pulsar is a common bike, then ppl are no fool to buy bajaj for obvious reasons. :-)

  • By Jaki, August 6, 2010 @ 1:01 am

Both Bike is good ……but Every One Need Digital Speedameter, It’s coming Lot Of problem,But It’s look good…….but

Pulser Engine Compare To Unicore .is best Beceuse…..now u buy New Bike Pulser After …Year The Engine sound it come…..Unicorn Is tooo good

That Same time no back pain in unicorn,

unicorn is late pick up but ramp power is high, now honda made new bike…Cbr1000 is ramp power very high 1200 cc in this bike…..

my openine is Unicorn Is the Best in the road

  • By elson, August 8, 2010 @ 12:12 am

pulsar is they best for youngester but unicorn is best for grandpas so just move on to pulsar buddys style is our life in now ways days so move on to pulsar

  • By Shashank, August 11, 2010 @ 8:01 pm

PULSAR : if you are young and energetic and want to enjoy youth and biking. PULSAR just rocks man.

but UNICORN is not bad at all, as all say… the Honda engine is smooth, pulsar also not bad. Bajaj desi company. Unicorn spares are costlier. Comparatively PULSAR’s road grip is good.People complain that Unicorn disc are noisy.. its coz you have to maintain ‘em properly by checking the brake oil and all. Pulsar shocks are superb man. In fact mileage of Pulsar is surprising for such a pick up and power. I’ve used Unicorn for 2 years and I own a Pulsar 150 DTSi so thought of expressing my honest opinion here.

Risk is my like/ living on edge / Muscular dude/ College guys/ pro-India / Kickass guys —- PULSAR

play safe / mileage is very important ( hardly 3 -4 kms diff) / old age people / Family man —- UNICORN

PULSAR = Pulsating Star ( Hamaaara Bajaj )
UNICORN = Single Horn Beast ( Saala videshi )

    enjoyy

  • By Lokesh Bhatia, August 23, 2010 @ 10:02 pm

Hi, I like driving a lot. My personal experience regarding the pulsar 150 cc is that the bike is good in looks with having the digital speedometer. Pulsar is having an efficient disc braking system. But when starts from ist gear onwards it noises a lot and it requires a good amount of money on maintainance. There is no substitute of pulsar in terms of looks , pick up and disc braking system. But while riding it is not smooth. Unicorn is much smoother in terms of riding and mileage as compared to pulsar. If some one has to see the smoothness and mileage then go for Unicorn.

  • By vivz, August 24, 2010 @ 10:36 am

pulsar is too much heavy n difficult 4 handling it looks good but have 2 be maitained regularly n consumes petrol a lot so i prefer the modified version of unicorn honda cd dazzler im just waiting d bike!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • By vivz, August 24, 2010 @ 10:42 am

    dear all,
Honda CB Unicorn Dazzler has come up with more attraction shape n design than any other bike n weights 8 kg less than unicorn 150.It has rear n fron tubeless tires n Self start system n looks sporty. So Plz prefer 2 bur honda CB dazzler Bike.U will love it!!!!!!!!!!!

  • By khurshid, August 28, 2010 @ 6:53 am

with looking all u guys comment i am now going for honda unicorn

  • By Ma9u, August 30, 2010 @ 4:39 am

HONDA n YAMAH have proved worldwide for having edge above all in bikes. Indian market read Milage Money n blind followers. Hero honda sell was highest until pulsar n appache None of these stand internationaly. Ppl who seek quality look durability performance either go with Honda or Yamah. But such ppl r less. Yamah R15 150cc bike is best but i cant afford. Other Yamah bikes r more sporty. My confusion is between the new launched CB UNICORN 150 cc or the earlier one. Lol.

  • By pawan, September 1, 2010 @ 1:48 am

    No Option For Honda Unicorn…

  • By kuyt, September 8, 2010 @ 2:09 am

I cant believe many people in here blindly say that unicorn is the best.
Believe me , mono shock is no match to the quality of gas charged suspension. The mono shock in unicorn is just a basic one, which is no match to the gas charged mono shock of HOnda bikes sold in western countries. GS150 or Pulsar or Hunk should be preferred to this if you need good shock absorbers for indian roads! Pulsar has not -so -good riding posture, hunk has weird seat.. so gs150 should be the best choice :)
Again, it is just my opinion.

Hond Unicorn is rocks on the road.No doubt at all

  • By JAYESH, September 20, 2010 @ 4:57 am

I have used three bikes in 10 years.. Ymaha RX 135, Pulsar 150 dtsi, Honda Unicorn. And i have frequently rode my friends’ RTRs, FZs and Karizmas.. Each one has its own pros and cons.. But if i sum up and come to a conclusion, i would say Unicorn is the best bike i have rode.
The engine quality i would say is superior and maintenance free even after 30000+ kms.. If we leave apart the initial pickup, it can match and beat any of these bikes on road, in terms of acceleration.. and i didnt find riding comfort i got on unicorn on any other bikes.

hey unicorn jst rocks…cos…even if u ride it after 30000km it will be lik a new vehicle…

  • By Jitendra, September 23, 2010 @ 11:45 pm

I took a Honda Unicorn of 2005 make in 2007. But I found no difference in performance, mileage, sound, comfortablity w.r.t. new models of Unicorn. The average mileage is 65-70km p.l. I found no difference in stability, sound, smoothness either in 50km/h or in 95km/h.
The pickup depends on the rider.
The look of the model is same as its name. It suits every age people.
I rode all other bikes, like pulsar(all models), cbz, apachi, but unicorn is unique among them. The position is such that you can go for long distance regularly without any back pain, etc.
All other bikes for 1-2yr, without maintenance, but Unicorn can be for life long. In terms of maintenance, smooth, comfertable at all speed, etc.

  • By Ankit, November 11, 2010 @ 2:10 am

i read all ur comment…… and i decide to buy UNICORN !!!!!! it has it’s own kingdom…….

  • By Gautham, November 16, 2010 @ 6:48 am

Hi friends i’m an ardent fan of Honda (now). I’ll give you a clear picture of which bike is better. I & my friend has both CB Unicorn & Pulsar. CB Unicorn – Better comfort, mileage, durability. Pulsar- Comfort (not upto the mark), mileage (no), durability (not steady. I waited for more than three months for CB Unicorn and at last got the bike. I don’t regret for waiting since it is better than any other bike i have rode and i’m telling you this from my heart. I had CBZ, my brother had Hunk and my friends had Apache and GS150R. We all drove each others bike and came to a conclusion that all of them liked CB Unicorn. CB Unicorn has a uniform weight all around and the jerk is well-balanced even if the bike is in full throttle. We all went for long drive and everone loved to drive CB Unicorn. Once you pass the third gear you wont feel the engine sound, it’s so smooth, no wear & tear for long-term (Guaranteed). It is trendy too for youth’s and good value for money. I strongly recommend everyone to buy CB Unicorn especially the Pearl Black. There was once this saying that “Honda stays longer than your best friends” i agree to that quote now.

Hi Friends…..i read many comments, but i would like to share with u my experience with Honda UNICORN,it is really fantastic, awesome with mileage, maintianace, comfort n many more….pulsar,i think only gives style n speed…but it wants maintainance, more petrol….

    Thanks a lot Friends…..

  • By Nandha Kumar, December 2, 2010 @ 3:33 am

Dear Friends, I am a really surprised about all of your comments. Few of them are generously good in mind set compare to others. Usually a product which rules the market will come across from several Research & Development (R&D). Being this line in mind i would like share about my experience. Honda is the sixth largest automobile manufacturer in the world. It spends about 5% of its revenues into R&D, compare to any other two wheeler manufacturer, Honda is at the top. I meant not to say that all other Indian two wheeler manufacturer are poor. Our day to day Indian Economic rise makes them the quality little bit down. Where as a brand which incorporates in India, it has to produce & deliver quality products to withstand in market. As same many of other country product are surviving here. Hence, Coming to the point: HONDA already incorporated in India through Hero Honda Motor Cycles launched in the bike named Ambition 135, this is first insert of complete Engine debut by Honda. But the outlook failed to pick in Indian Market. This arises Honda to put their own two segment in India. As i mentioned earlier to withstand in market, the company should deliver quality product and we doing that……

    Thanks for your welcoming support

Pulsar have more power and looks better, But unicorn is more smooth and better. Unicorn have very less maintenance and the parts are less costly than pulsar

  • By rahul, December 4, 2010 @ 6:16 am

unicorn is king of the road. smooth riding, no silencer sound, no mantan..
    i will go to unicorn

  • By Prafulla, December 5, 2010 @ 10:03 am

In 150 cc segment, even now, Unicorn stands best to others. I have driven pulsar, CBZ-extreme, Apache but none of them gives as much comfort as Unicorn. And it offers extremely smooth ride. Sitting position for pulsar enatils one to bow a bit(which helps in stunts), causing back problems if you drive for longer distances everyday. So considering smoothness of engine, reliability of machine, comfort of riding , re-sale value, handling at higher speeds, Unicorn clearly stands tall. And again the most striking aspect of it is – its mileage that makes it most economical of all in this segment.
I have driven Unicorn for almost 25000Km in last 2years and I am very satisified with its performance overall.

  • By Chetan, December 10, 2010 @ 8:44 am

    I own my unicorn [2009 model]….
Its an awesome com-paired to pulser [even 180] ..
coz i got tht too …..

I just went through all the comments and have decided to go for Honda. The Problem is now I have confusion in Honda Dazzler and Honda CB Unicorn!! confused with which one to go for. since Dazzler has 14 bhp is the Mileage reduced!!
I am very particular about mileage .
Dazzler has changed i shape and reduced it wait by 8 kgs from Unicorn but what more diferences do we have between the two bike!!
This lead to another confusion, DAZZLER or UNICORN!!!

Can you guy plz help me wit these, and also wat are the problems faced by Unicorn after a few years??

    Help required here plz!!!!

  • By Masrur, January 19, 2011 @ 11:59 am

Pulsar is much better than unicorn or any other 150cc bikes…Though its not fuel efficient bike, but its controls and handling are better than any other…I personally appreciate a heavy bike, because its safe when you are and your bike is above 80 or more…
And i would say about the brakes that-” this brake is not for the amateurs”…
Ya the only thing is better on Unicorn is its Mono Suspension… but the suspension of Hunk is also better than Pulsar…
Eventually, every thing depends on the rider and you, how you handle the bike…

  • By Masrur, January 19, 2011 @ 12:00 pm

DEFINITELY PULSAR HAS A BETTER LOOK THAN UNICORN…

  • By Vicky, January 21, 2011 @ 4:44 am

pulsar is a bike for the youth. When it comes to style and pickup,no one can beat pulsar.
    Advantages:
    1.stable at high speed
    2.smooth and agressive pickup
3.comes with a disc break which is necessary for a high speed bike but you have to know how to use it.
4.mileage is also not bad 55-60kmpl in city
    5.very powerful engine.
6.and if you are a stunter then nothing can be best than pulsar!!

  • By Rayed, January 22, 2011 @ 1:02 am

The front part of Unicorn is very light, whereas Pulsar has a heavy front portion. Pulsar has higher BHp than Unicorn which produces more power….pulsar gains speed faster after 60kmph,,,and obviously the TWIN SPARK…..my pulsar’s highest speed was 135khmp……

  • By Masrur, January 22, 2011 @ 2:36 pm

Hi i have one unicorn and my room met has pulsar 150 cc. I am not going to compare unicorn and pulsar.. just go and test drive both, then you can feel the difference, you can blindly say unicorn is the best because of its smooth engine..having good milege 60 to 65 which no other bikes in this segment can provide and MAINLY SAYS ABOUT THE ENGINE LIFE…WE CAN USE THIS FOR LONG YEARS WITH LESS MAINTENANCE .. IT ALWAYS FEELS SMOOTHER AND SMOOTHER which no other bike can provide… its like a silent killer…..

  • By shoji Abraham, February 9, 2011 @ 4:23 pm

hi i went for a trip from chennai to kerala in unicorn 2006 model…. it is near to 700 kms. Route chennai – tiruchy – didugal – kumbam – kumaly – vandiperiyar – kottayam…. its amazing that i ride the bike continuously to reach that end point with some small break ups for food , water etc.. after it crossed 50 kms the engine got more smoother and pick up got increased … just from a little trottle it is going to 65 and 70 km/hr. i ride the bike continuously from adayar to tirucy (320 kms) started at 5 pm with a speed of 60 to 70 and reached there at 10:30 pm. took a break for 20 minutes.. again started to dindugal and so on…early morning i reached kumaliy ….before reaching kumily there is a small problem in the engine , Engine feels very hard to run and it feels that it is dificult to cross the extra 175 kms. Please dont blame the vehicle …. its a 150 cc bike and i am continuously riding the without making the engine to cool or to take rest. just compare other 150 cc bikes, can it go continuously for 700 kms….. impossible… but unicorn did it. i reached kumaly early morning and i just made the engine to cool (30 minutes)as i need the break fast…and with that restless engine and restless body of me again i started the bike, i drive the bike very fast…. 80 to 90 km/hr from there.. road is having big curves which i didnt mind it….. i felt like damaging the smoother engine as i gave maximum work to engine which no other bike can survive,,,

The surprising part is i reached home at 8:30 am without any engine trouble…. after the engine got cooled it again comes to the normal condition and i got the milege around 65 to 67.

I LOVE MY UNICORN VERY MUCH AS IT IS THE BEST ENGINE IN 150 CC IN THE WORLD. HONDA ROCKS….

I’m totally disagreed with your comments , Why because me also have one Pulsar 150 DTSi that just crossed 40k KM , Now I’m paying minimum of Rs 2000 per month to Service center … i will give you the details …

    Changed CDI unit – 950
    Labour charge – 200
    changed both plugs – 95 * 2
Reseat the Engine head – 3750 + tax
    Carpureter – 2000 + tax
    Normal service – 600

    Etc ….

this is just last 2 months what i paid in Gokul bajaj @ Bangalore .

But Pulsar is giving the Driving satisfaction is very high because of sudden pick up and excellent pulling …

for a long time use i will suggest Honda Unicorn … :) i booked one yesterday …

I Used Pulsar for 2 years. I bought 4 years used vehical. I got 55 KM millage in highway and 48 in city. Pulsar Built quality is not good (Dont know about new one with Digital speed meeter).
Now I bought Unicorn. Engine is good and good comfort. The following are pros and cons

    Unicorn …………
    Goods>>>>>>>>>
    >good Quality.
    >Good Comfort.
    >Reliability.
    >Safty (good breaking)
    Bads>>>>>>>>>>
    >Not good style.
    >Pickup is average
    >Low torq (Requires more gear changes)
    >Cold start problem
    >Not preferable for bad roads (Bumps)
